Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 September 2026

AuroraX is made by Tarik Belaid ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. There is no account to create, and we do not sell your data.

Location

With your permission, the app reads your device location to forecast the aurora where you are. The coordinates are sent to the weather and space weather services listed below so they can return a forecast for that point, and they are used on your device to name your location and to check activity for alerts. We do not store your location on our own servers, and we do not keep a history of where you have been. You can revoke location access at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Services the app contacts

These services receive the request from your device, including your approximate coordinates where the feature needs them, and are governed by their own privacy policies.

Data stored on your device

Your settings, your saved aurora sightings and the last forecast are stored on your iPhone only. They are not uploaded to us. Deleting the app deletes them.

Notifications

If you enable alerts, the app checks activity in the background and sends notifications locally from your device. No notification is sent through our servers.

Advertising

The free version of AuroraX shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about ads you see and interact with, in order to deliver and measure advertising. Details are in Google's privacy policy and in how Google uses data from partner apps.

Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice later in the app's Settings tab. Buying "Remove Ads" removes all advertising from the app.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation from Apple that a purchase is valid; we never see your payment details.

Analytics

We do not use any analytics or tracking SDK of our own.

Children

AuroraX is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Because the app keeps your data on your device and we hold no account, there is nothing on our side to access or delete. If you have a question about your data, or want to exercise a right under the GDPR or CCPA, write to contact@tarikbelaid.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
